At Shop Rugged Ranch, we stand behind the quality of every wire pen, coop, feeder, kennel, and trap we sell. If something isn't right with your order, we're here to make it right.
Return Window
You may request a return within 30 days of the delivery date. Returns requested after this window cannot be accepted.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for a return, your item must meet all of the following conditions:

Unused and in the same condition you received it

In its original packaging with all parts, hardware, and accessories included

Not assembled, modified, painted, or otherwise altered

Accompanied by proof of purchase (order number or receipt)
Items That Cannot Be Returned
The following items are final sale and cannot be returned:

Items that have been assembled, installed, or used

Custom-built or made-to-order items

Clearance, closeout, or final-sale items

Items damaged through misuse, normal wear and tear, weather exposure, or improper assembly

Items returned without prior authorization
How to Start a Return

Email us at [returns@shopruggedranch.com] with your order number, the item(s) you'd like to return, and the reason for the return.

We'll review your request and, if approved, issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number along with return shipping instructions within 2–3 business days.

Pack the item securely in its original packaging and clearly mark the RMA number on the outside of the box.

Ship the item to the address provided. Returns sent without an RMA number will not be processed.
Return Shipping Costs

Defective, damaged, or incorrect items: We cover return shipping in full.

Change of mind, ordering error, or no-longer-needed items: Return shipping is the customer's responsibility. For oversized or freight items, this can be substantial — please contact us for an estimate before approving the return.
We strongly recommend using a trackable shipping service and purchasing shipping insurance. We cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
Restocking Fee
A [15–25]% restocking fee may apply to returns of non-defective items, particularly oversized or freight-shipped products (coops, walk-in pens, large feeders, kennels). This fee covers inspection, repackaging, and warehouse handling. The exact fee will be confirmed when your RMA is issued.
Damaged or Defective Items
Because most of our products ship by freight, please inspect your delivery thoroughly before signing for it.

If you notice visible damage to the packaging or product on arrival, note it on the delivery receipt before signing and refuse the shipment if the damage is severe.

If you discover concealed damage after unpacking, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with clear photos of the damage, the packaging, and the shipping label.

We will arrange a replacement, repair, or full refund at no cost to you, including return shipping for the damaged item.
Damage claims reported after 48 hours, or without photo documentation, may be denied by the freight carrier and may not be eligible for replacement.
Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your return, we'll send you an email confirming receipt and the status of your refund.

Approved refunds are processed to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.

Depending on your bank or card issuer, it may take an additional 3–10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement.

Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is the result of our error or a defective product.

If a restocking fee applies, it will be deducted from your refund.
Exchanges
We do not offer direct exchanges. If you'd like a different item, please return the original for a refund (subject to the terms above) and place a new order.
Order Cancellations
You may cancel an order at no charge if it has not yet shipped. Email us as soon as possible at [orders@shopruggedranch.com]. Once an order has shipped — particularly freight orders — it cannot be cancelled and must be processed as a return.
