Shipping Policy

Thank you for shopping with Shop Rugged Ranch. This Shipping Policy explains how we process, ship, and deliver your order. Because many of our products, pens, coops, large feeders, kennels, are oversized and ship by freight, please read this policy carefully before placing your order.

Order Processing

  • Orders are processed Monday through Friday, excluding U.S. federal holidays.

  • Standard processing time is 1–3 business days after payment is confirmed.

  • During promotions, seasonal peaks, or holidays, processing may take an additional 2–3 business days.

  • You will receive a confirmation email when your order is placed and a separate shipping notification with tracking information once it ships.

Shipping Methods

We use the shipping method that best fits the size and weight of your order:

  • Standard Ground Shipping (UPS / FedEx / USPS): For smaller items such as traps, feeders, waterers, salt block holders, and accessories.

  • LTL Freight (Less-Than-Truckload): For oversized items such as walk-in pens, welded wire pens, large coops, dog kennels, and pasture feeders. Freight shipments are delivered by a commercial freight carrier and require special handling at delivery (see "Freight Delivery" below).

Shipping Rates

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your delivery address, the size and weight of your items, and the shipping method required. The total shipping cost will be displayed before you complete your order.

Estimated Delivery Times

Once shipped, typical transit times within the contiguous United States are:

  • Standard Ground: 3–7 business days

  • LTL Freight: 5–14 business days (varies by destination and carrier scheduling)

Delivery times are estimates from the carrier and are not guaranteed. Weather, carrier delays, and remote delivery locations can affect timing.

Shipping Destinations

  • We currently ship to all 48 contiguous U.S. states.

  • Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, and APO/FPO addresses is available on request for some items only. Please contact us before ordering for a custom quote.

  • We do not ship freight items to P.O. boxes.

  • International shipping is not currently offered; it is available on request. Please contact us for a quote.

Freight Delivery - Important Information

Freight shipments are different from standard parcel delivery. Please review the following carefully:

  • Curbside delivery: Standard freight delivery is curbside only. The driver is not required to bring the item onto your property, up a driveway, or into a building.

  • Scheduled appointment: The freight carrier will contact you by phone to schedule a delivery appointment. Please provide a phone number you answer regularly at checkout; failure to do so can delay or cancel your delivery.

  • Someone must be present: An adult (18+) must be present to receive and inspect the shipment and sign the delivery receipt.

  • Lift gate / inside delivery / residential surcharges: These services may incur additional fees. Contact us before ordering if you need them.

  • Missed appointments or storage fees: If you miss a scheduled delivery or the carrier holds your shipment because you are unable to receive it, you may be responsible for redelivery or storage fees charged by the carrier.

Inspect Your Shipment at Delivery

This step is critical for freight orders:

  1. Note any visible damage, torn shrink wrap, holes, crushed corners, punctures- on the delivery receipt before the driver leaves. Take clear photos.

  2. If the damage is severe, refuse the shipment and contact us immediately.

  3. If you discover concealed damage after unpacking, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the product, packaging, and shipping label.

Signing a clean delivery receipt without inspection makes it very difficult, and often impossible, to file a damage claim with the freight carrier. Please take a few extra minutes at the truck.

Tracking Your Order

When your order ships, you'll receive an email with tracking information. Please allow up to 24–48 hours for tracking details to update with the carrier. If you don't see tracking activity after that, contact us, and we'll look into it.

Address Accuracy

Please double-check your shipping address at checkout. We are not responsible for orders shipped to incorrect addresses provided by the customer. If you notice an error after ordering, contact us immediately at info@shopruggedranch.com. We'll do our best to update it if the order has not yet shipped, but we cannot guarantee changes once a shipment is in transit. Reshipping fees may apply to returned-to-sender packages due to an incorrect address.

Lost Packages

If your tracking shows delivered but you haven't received your order, please:

  1. Check with neighbors and other household members.

  2. Look for a carrier notice at the delivery location.

  3. Contact the carrier directly with your tracking number.

  4. If still missing after 48 hours, email us at info@shopruggedranch.com, and we'll help resolve the issue.

Shipping Delays

Shipping carriers occasionally experience delays due to weather, mechanical issues, high volume, or other circumstances outside our control. While we'll always do our best to keep you informed, we cannot be held liable for carrier-caused delays once an order has shipped.

Order Changes and Cancellations

Once an order has been processed and handed to the carrier, it cannot be modified or cancelled. If you need to make a change, please contact us within 24 hours of placing your order at info@shopruggedranch.com.
