Squirrelinator Multi-Catch Squirrel Trap

I started using the squirrelinator a few weeks ago and so far i've caught only 3 squirrels. i have a lot of squirrels on my property. however. 1 squirrel we were able to dispatch. the other 2 escaped. at first i thought i had magical squirrels. or maybe my squirrels were just smarter than all the rest. i mean honestly, they might be pretty smart circus level squirrels. they avoid my trap and get into things (and clearly out of) that i'm very surprised about. after the second one disappeared, literally when i was filling the basin to dispatch him, i turned around and he was gone. like we're talking gone in 60 seconds thing. all after i had watched him frantically run to and fro. i was flabbergasted. 1 squirrel i could explain away, but 2!?!? could they figure out how to lift the gate? or are they being helped by a higher power? but after inspection come to find out there are at least TWO, not 1, but TWO and one more broken links in the cage. i saw in the description is says "heavy duty galvanized steel". well let me tell you, my squirrels teeth must be made of metal because even the slightly bent one i found i could barely move with my hands. so now. i have bought this thing and it's more or less worthless because my what now appear to be super strength squirrels have opened two holes from which if they find them they can squeeze out of. i cannot recommend this product. but if you're looking for some strong, smart, possibly magical squirrels, hit me up.

Great trap. I have been having an issue with squirrels digging up my planters, peeing and pooing everywhere, and yapping away nonstop in the afternoon, sometimes for hours. They then tore up my $400 tent while camping. Then my $150 solo tent while backpacking. The final straw was when they tore through the screen to get into my office to find food (caught them in the act and had to kick what remained of the screen out so they could escape). Decided it was time to wage war.First I bought an electric trap (from one of the many Chinese-junk sellers here). When it arrived, I set it up and watched as three squirrels came, grabbed the bait, and either didn't get shocked OR clearly got a zap but managed to run away groaning/cooing in pain. Clearly, it didn't kill them.Then I bought some snap traps. One trap simply didn't go off. And then the woman demanded I take them down because the neighbor's indoor/outdoor cat sometimes prowls near where I had set them up.Finally I bought this trap. At the outset, I knew catching 25 squirrels at once (as claimed) was a far fetch, but if I could just do one at a time, I'd be happy.Upon arrival and setup, a squirrel came to investigate within half an hour (I watch obsessively). Unfortunately, it didn't quite work. Having all the bait in the middle allowed her to stretch her body in and grab the food while keeping the one-way door open, then back herself out. When she was spooked by some kids screaming/playing in the distance, I took the opportunity to change it up a bit. I closed up one of the doors and moved all the bait closer to that side of the trap, so that she'd have no choice but to venture further inside. When she returned an hour later, she walked right into the trap. After much fighting about whether to kill or relocate (me vs the woman respectively), we decided to... actually, I'm not going to talk about what happened after.After we did the mystery top secret thing with squirrel #1, I set the trap back up. Squirrel #2 ventured over a couple hours later. This one was a bit more difficult. I set it up the way I had w/ squirrel #1, but he really didn't want to use the door. He kept trying to gnaw at the trap from the outside, He was very wary of the moving one-way door mechanism and refused to enter. The day went by without a catch, so I changed things up that night. By "changed things up", I mean I added WAY more bait (peanut butter on saltine crackers). Today morning, he came by again and couldn't resist. After trying and failing at his usual chew-his-way-in tactics, he went straight for the door. Boom, mine. This guy was vicious though. He charged the edges of the cage towards my feet so ferociously that he could make the whole thing slide (on a concrete floor) a good two inches or so. And he was trying so desperately to chew his way out that he was bleeding quite profusely from the mouth. It was gleeful, and the woman threatened to leave me for how much evident pleasure I was taking in watching his agony. We fought some more, and again I won't mention what the outcome was for the squirrel.Squirrel #3 came by no more than twenty minutes after the trap was set for the third time. The problem with her was that she was too stupid to figure out how to get in the cage. No biting, no trying anything special. She just tried to shove her face in furiously through the bars. After an hour of this, she gave up and ran off. I modified the bait layout a little bit by making a little guiding trail from a couple feet outside right through the doorway, but she's still too stupid to understand what to do once she approaches. That said, she came back two more times, so I suspect she'll eventually come and figure it out.So, things to keep in mind:1) Squirrels might be large enough to grab bait from the middle and run off with it without the door blocking them in. Use better bait and place it strategically (near the corners, just outside of reach from the outside, is great too).2) Trapped squirrels might viciously attack the cage, so WEAR GLOVES.3) Some squirrels are legitimately too stupid to get stuck, maybe.4) Trapped squirrels might be LOUD! As in "oh crap, I hope this is legal and my neighbors aren't calling the police on me right now" loud. If this happens, throw the entire cage back in the box, squirrel and all, and they'll magically shut up after a minute or so.

It took a while to catch my first squirrel but it became very effective when I used unshelled peanuts as bait. I sprinkled them liberally around the outside and left a pile inside. Caught two squirrels at one time. Also helps to watch where they normally travel and put it near their path.

This is my second one of these over the years because some scum bag recently stole my last one. I know I Know, I shouldn't have left it outside. lol Anyway I've had the new one for 16 days and I already caught 2 squirrels, the second one took nearly 2 weeks to get. I like the trap a lot it's the springs that I took a star off for, a clip just fell off about an hour ago, but it did go back on easy until next time. I recently paid $69.99 and thought that was $5-$10 too much. IMO it's the bait, load it up with uncooked/unsalted inshell peanuts and they seem to keep coming. Watching them feed from these traps I noticed that they like to go halfway in and grab a peanut then leave, but they do come back for more. They will go in further and the door will eventually close behind them for good then they rush around to the corners but for whatever reason they don't go back to how they got in.

This trap is amazing. They thought of everything! I thought we had one or maybe three squirrels in our yard, but no, we've caught 15 so far!! My hubs and I go on "squirrel dates" now, because every time we catch one, after we drop it off somewhere safe, where there are no houses, but there is squirrel food, we go get an ice cream cone. We were told by a neighbor that it would never work, they were wrong! It works GREAT!

This is a great product for catching Squirrels! I do not enjoy destroying them, as they are cute and fun to watch, but when they start raising families in the bedroom wall or in the attic, and cause serious damage, they must be removed permanently. They live for up to 15, 20 and even 25 years, and remember the warm comfy nests they made in your house and will never stop trying to get back in, even if it is after a year. Their sharp teeth continuously grow, and they must constantly chew on wood and other things to keep them at a useable length. They are also part of the rat family. After reading other reviews, we rubbed a thin coat of Vaseline on all of the shiny parts of the trap and that kept then from rusting. If you accidentally seal a squirrel in your attic, place the trap in a dark area where they have been and put some water and peanut butter and a small steady LED light inside it to draw them inside it. Outside, place the 24" by 24" by 5" trap near whatever they are climbing to get into your house. Buy a bag of squirrel & critter food (bright yellow corn and peanuts) and pour a small amount in the center, and place some in front of each of the two entrances. When they are in front of an entrance eating the bait, they will look up and see the mound of food straight ahead in the center of the trap and run through the door that closes behind them. It is illegal to relocate them miles elsewhere, so you will have to either call animal control or destroy them yourself (which the law usually allows you to do if they are damaging your property). We have never caught more than one at a time, but in the past few months we have cleared up the problem with numerous multiple catches. They can easily enter but cannot figure out how to escape.

Set the trap out and on 2nd day caught 2 squirrels with just a little bird seed in middle. Caught 2 more squirrels the n3xt two days. Only negative is the "Made in China" label. Meta is sturdy, but door closures springs could be a little stronger. At the price range, it should include the carrying container advertised for higher price. Good overall for what it is intended to do. Would buy again or in other versions......rat trap.

Don't set this up in the winter months! Maine location.Froze to ground, Did catch One Squirrel, Before putting it away till warmer weather.I will give you a review when I start using, or weather warms up!I did catch the squirrel on second day, after received this item!

I've got 4 squirrels in about three weeks. I'm very happy with this product and I highly recommend it.

If you want something that really works this is the "Real Deal". The first hour outside caught 2 squirrels. It doesn't take long use sunflower seeds and get ready.

I bought this product for my boyfriend’s ranch. Time will tell if he catches any squirrels.

I used a powdered donut inside. Caught 3 in 24 hours Not all at once but amazing results. Very pleased with product Place outside by building or wherever they run Don’t forget to lock the lid with the spring clips. Once fought place a towel over the trap it will allow the squirrel(s) to calm down.

Using plain bird seed, catches lots of Squirrels!!

One problem is: "You had better think ahead, what you are going to do with them..." For, it works, and I mean works... Mine was / is placed in with my chicken pen (Day 1 / 2 within an hour)... (Day 2 / 2 within an hour ~ Chicken Yard) The squirrels have a certain time they visit my yard, during their neighborhood ventures... The squirrels steal the chicken feed, so I put some dog treats in the cage, and they preferred them... OOOPS...

I had been having squirrel problems in my attic for a couple months. In fact, they had chewed through some pex water pipes in my attic twice in two months, which is why I purchased the trap.Within 48 hours I had caught both squirrels living in my attic! I placed the trap outside where I had seen them coming and going, laid down some nuts on the ground on the inside of the trap, and in 2 days I had caught them both. They both tried to chew their way out, and the trap is absolutely sturdy enough to take a full day of gnawing without them making any progress whatsover.The spring doors are easy to latch open, and the trap is easy to move with a squirrel inside without worrying about getting scratched or bitten.5 stars for effectiveness and value!

Works great. Just was not clear in the sales information that it was a USED item. That was not clear. For something like this and the price, would expect it to be new (due to potential issues related to disease if it had animals in it before). Also, in the promotional videos, it would show multiple squirrels. My experience is that a second squirrel will never come in if there is one already trapped in there.

If you have a problem with squirrels, this trap is definitely a must-buy. I was getting overrun with squirrels, and when I put this trap out, I caught 20 squirrels in nine days. I'm up to 31 squirrels now and I still have more I see on my property. Seems the key is to use the right bait. I use peanuts in the shell. I put lots in the middle of the trap and put 5 or 6 at each entrance. This draws them right in. Can't imagine a better trap than this one. Very highly recommended.

Put it out and baited with corn and sunflower seeds. Squirrels were all over it but only one went in. Released far away into woods. I think they've figured it out. Will relocate and bait.

Caught 3 squirrels in 2 days!!

Works great. Catches 1 to 3 squirrels per day in my backyard. Have caught 12 the first week. Puechased a bag of squirrell food from Tractor Supply as bait. The bait is primarily corn with some sunflower seeds and whole peanuts in the shell. Put the most corn in the middle of the trap and little in the entryways to the trap.
