Chick Outfitters Photo Hats

Two Cowboy Hats. One Photo. Then Take Them Off.

A 2-pack of cowboy-style chicken hats — one brown and one black. Hold the bird, set a hat on the comb, tie the string under the beak, take the photo, then take the hat off. This is supervised photo wear — not a coop accessory you leave on, and not protection from pecking or molting injuries.

This listing is Rugged Ranch Chick Outfitters SKU CBHBB. About 4.8 oz (136 g) for the pack. Made in China. If a feature is not listed on this page, do not assume it is included.

What’s On This Listing

  • Two cowboy hats (one brown and one black)
  • String that ties under the beak
  • About 4.8 oz (136 g) for the pack
  • No arms, harness, leash, or extra props in this box

What These Hats Are For

Western-themed photos, farm-stand shots, parties, and gag gifts. They are not sized by breed. If a hat will not sit without covering the eyes or bothering the beak, skip that bird.

What’s Not Included / Not For

Not pecking protection. Not molting cover. Not all-day or overnight wear. Do not leave a hat on near waterers, in the run, or with birds that peck costumes. Take it off as soon as the photo is done.

How To Use It

How To Put Them On

This is a photo hat. Hold the bird, set the hat, get the shot, take it off.

  1. Hold the hen calmly so it cannot shake the hat into a waterer or fence.
  2. Set the hat on the comb and tie the string under the beak — snug, not choking.
  3. Check the brim does not cover the eyes and the bird can still open its beak.
  4. Take the photo, then take the hat off. Do not leave it on in the coop, overnight, or with birds that peck hats.

If a bird fights the hat, stop. This is not head protection and not all-day wear.

Why Photo-Session Hats Beat Leaving Them On

The joke is the picture. A hat left in the run can snag, get pecked, or block a bird from eating and drinking.

FAQs

Can they wear the hats in the coop all day?

No. These are supervised photo hats. Take them off as soon as you have the shot. Do not leave them on overnight, in the run, near waterers, or with birds that peck at costumes.

Will this stop pecking or protect a molting comb?

No. Do not buy these as head protection. They are decorative cowboy hats with a string under the beak.

Will they fit a bantam or a big rooster?

They are meant for a typical standard hen. Bantams and extra-large birds may not keep a hat on. If the string pinches or the brim covers the eyes, skip that bird.

How do I put them on?

Hold the bird calmly. Set the hat on the comb, tie the string under the beak — snug, not choking — check the eyes and beak, take the photo, then take the hat off.

What colors are in this pack?

This listing is a 2-pack: one brown and one black. The other color pair is a separate listing.

What if a hat arrives damaged?

Email photos to info@shopruggedranch.com or call (773) 234-9995. Damaged units are replaced. 30-day satisfaction guarantee if it is not the right prop for you.
