  1. Hold the hen calmly so it cannot shake the hat into a waterer or fence.
  2. Set the hat on the comb and pass the fabric loop under the beak.
  3. Check the brim does not cover the eyes and the bird can still open its beak.
  4. Take the photo, then take the hat off. Do not leave it on in the coop, overnight, or with birds that peck hats.

If a bird fights the hat, stop. This is not head protection and not all-day wear.

Will they fit a bantam or a big rooster?
